A Look Back & A Creative Year Ahead with Lovely Letters ✍️✨

Hello Reader,

As the year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on 2024 and share what’s on the horizon for 2025.

This year has been an exciting and creative journey for Lovely Letters:

  • throughout the spring: Monthly in-person workshops brought calligraphy lovers together to explore the basics and beyond. Participants also applied their new skills in creative projects, writing on household items like plant pots, mirrors, and storage boxes—perfect for personal use or heartfelt gifts.
  • over the summer: I enjoyed following tutorials from other artists to explore using art and calligraphy just for fun. Taking time to craft handmade gifts for friends is always such a pleasant experience. I love taking lessons from others as they give me tips about new techniques faster than I could figure them out on my own.
  • from late August: I introduced monthly taster workshops at KOTESOL events, visiting cities across Korea and connecting with passionate teachers and creatives.
  • October: Lovely Letters participated in a provincial festival for foreigners, sharing calligraphy with a diverse and curious audience.
  • December: The holiday season brought back commissioned Letters from Santa and festive Christmas cards. I also painted a few special crafts as gifts for friends and colleagues, adding a personal touch to the season.

Looking ahead, I’m thrilled to share some upcoming opportunities for us to create together in 2025:

  • Online Calligraphy Course (starts January 12th): Whether you’re new to calligraphy or looking to refine your skills, this course offers a guided, interactive experience. Sign up by the end of next week to ensure your supplies arrive on time!
  • In-Person Calligraphy Crafting Workshop (March 9th): Join me to start your lettering journey by learning calligraphy skills, practicing them in a supportive setting, and getting hands-on with a fun, creative project?

Thank you for following along with my Lovely Letters. I appreciate your interest and support in exploring the world of calligraphy, whether you’ve been actively involved or just enjoying the updates. I look forward to continuing to share and create with you in the year ahead. If you ever want to share your thoughts or experiences, feel free to reach out—I’d love to hear from you!

Yours in creativity,
Lisa
