Get a Taste of Calligraphy this Spring

Hello Reader,

There's so much going on over the next few weeks, I just had to get in touch today to share it all with you!

First and foremost on my mind this week has been the KOTESOL International Conference (IC) - I'll be there in Seoul this weekend representing my local chapter and also, as a member's benefit, they've asked if I'd like to showcase a bit of what modern calligraphy is all about. Please drop by my table and say HI!

Upcoming Opportunities:

This weekend:

Find me at the Jeonju North Jeolla chapter table at the IC. I'll have my calligraphy markers with me, so you can try your hand at the art. It's really quite fun!

Calligraphy Crafting

This May's workshop will show you how to write modern calligraphy directly onto flowerpots. Join me on May 12th in Jeonju.

Come for a Taster

I've been requested to participate in the Seoul KOTESOL Chapter Spring Symposium! Come give the basics a try and get your questions about modern calligraphy answered on May 18th in Seoul. Did you know you don't need neat handwriting to be able to do fancy calligraphy?

Exciting news this month:

This month, I've had practice at home and further afield working on a larger scale. I travelled to Mokpo to make a detailed 90 x 60 cm calligraphy Welcome sign for an English academy. Get in touch if you have signage needs - I love working on glass or acrylic and also have experience with making signage on wood and mirrors.

My latest project is for myself.

This is one of the biggest projects I've made so far, along with the first pic, above. They're both as big as 9 sheets of B4 paper side by side: about 80cm by 110cm. It's not very detailed because I just wanted to quickly put them together as my table covers for this weekend!

I hope to see you sometime in the next few weeks so I can share my love of calligraphy with you in person!
